ABOUT DR. SHILAGH

Speaker, Writer, Facilitator, Therapist

A sought-after speaker, writer, facilitator and therapist, Dr. Shilagh is a frequent contributor to WMTV News and BRAVA Magazine in Madison. She writes and speaks on mind-body skills to foster optimal health and well-being. Dr. Shilagh has presented on well-being in the workplace at major corporations such as Boeing, Harley Davidson, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Saris and Promega Corporation.

In her clinical practice, Dr. Shilagh treats a variety of medical conditions and mood and anxiety disorders. As a sport psychologist, she specializes in peak performance training and injury rehabilitation.

Shilagh received a B.A. from Wellesley College and a Ph.D. in Clinical and Community Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University. She spent a college semester abroad studying about Tibetan culture and meditation in Asia and received a blessing from His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. This experience profoundly influenced her life’s work of learning and teaching how to cultivate the power of the mind through mind-body medicine. Dr. Shilagh has continued traveling extensively to parts of the world as a lifelong learner of spirituality, mindfulness and mind-body medicine. She recently utilized the mind-body skills for peak performance she teaches to circumambulate the sacred Mt. Kailash in Tibet and to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
